The Cat and The Fiddle – Private Yacht Review

First of all, allow me to state that I never in a million years thought I’d be blessed enough to be going on and reviewing a luxury private yacht in the Caribbean, so this experience was to say the least, surreal. During our trip to Barbados, my partner and I got dressed in the morning, packed a small beach bag full of our gadgets and towels and made our way down to the beach where we were to meet the team who we booked this experience with. Taking it in turns to take a small speed boat out to the Yacht that was too large to get to close to our hotel, we were welcomed with members of our party already waving out to us with drinks in hand, making our arrival that much more exciting.

Words can’t begin to describe how amazing this experience was and how highly I’d recommend spending a day on this yacht if your ever visiting Barbados. Now, onto some history on the this beautiful Yacht: The Cat And The Fiddle Yacht interior layout sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 rooms, including a master suite and 2 VIP staterooms. She is also capable of carrying up to 2 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Timeless styling, beautiful furnishings and sumptuous seating feature throughout to create an elegant and comfortable atmosphere.

Once you step foot on the cat and the fiddle, be aware that you will quickly be met with delicious rum punches and an assortment of alcoholic beverages of your choice throughout your 5 hours at sea (which you’d be crazy to turn down). The crew members from start to finish were not only informative, but super friendly and welcoming, informing us that we’d have the option to go snorkelling with turtles, sailing to the other side of the Island and dining for a late lunch before heading back to reality. But before all the activities begin, allow me to show you around The Cat and the Fiddle.

A comfy dining/living area dominates the centre level of the yacht with soft leather sofas, a dining table, sailor inspired decor and a navigation screen I pretended to know everything about. Outside of this area, you will find sliding doors that take you out onto the deck where you will find the bar, another dining area and lounge sofa seats where most of us spent time relaxing and taking in the experience. On the lower level of the yacht you will find 3 rooms, each containing comfortable beds ready for you to relax on, If the waves of the ocean get too much for you. A range of bathrooms, fitted with both showers and toilets and a range of shower amenities.

Of course, our first yacht experience was the perfect excuse to have an array of photos! Enjoying every portion of the The Cat and the Fiddle with other members of our party was an amazing experience that I look back on with a smile.

To top off an already great few hours on the yacht, it was quickly made even better once we had reached a particular part of the ocean where sea turtles were known to dominate. It was time for snorkelling! Apologies for the difference in picture quality, it was time to get the GoPro out!

Being one of the biggest wimps ever and not the strongest swimmer, I never would have thought that I’d be brave enough to go snorkelling or do anything this adventurous in the middle of the ocean, but with the kind help of one of our crew members ‘Shey’ (my apologies if I’ve butchered the spelling) it became apparent that I was able to not only let go of my fears of the ocean but also have fun whilst doing it, so thank you Shey for your time and patience with me. It truly was an amazing experience despite later finding out there was a shark beneath us! To see footage of that, you can find my partner and I’s vlog from this day – RIGHT HERE – Following an adventurous hour in the sea, we headed back on board and sat to enjoy (possibly the best meal we’d had since being on the island), a homemade buffet of macaroni pie, baked chicken, roast potatoes, grilled shrimps, corn on the cob, salad and a dessert station containing cakes and fresh fruit and of course, more cocktails.

As the day came to an end and it was time for us to head back to mainland, It became quickly apparent that I need a yacht in my life, permanently. Although I’m aware that the price for such an experience is on the pricey side, I highly recommend that if you are on vacation with a large number of people that you close your eyes and get booking, as our experience on The Cat And The Fiddle was truly a day we will always remember and honestly might have been the biggest highlight of our trip to Barbados. Special thank you to the crew for making this such a memorable experience filled with laughter, music, food and adventure.
